OSI Food Solutions is operational across several continents. They have buildings located in Holland, Spain, the United States, and Australia. In total, OSI Food Solutions is operational in 16 countries and have over 60 buildings. The success of the company can be attributed to several stages of growth during its lifespan.
First, while the company was known as Otto & Sons, a partnership with a new fast food restaurant called McDonald’s would eventually blossom into a fruitful endeavor. When McDonald’s went international in the 1970s, so did Otto & Sons. The company eventually focused entirely on supplying McDonald’s, selling its other operations. Now, the company is a multi-national organization.
The company was originally based out of Chicago, Illinois, and it still has operations in the area. In fact, with the purchase of an old Tyson chicken plant in Illinois, they have expanded operations in their home state. The plant is located in Chicago and is a 200,00 square foot facility. It is also conveniently located to another OSI Food Solutions building.
“This facility enhances our capabilities to meet the rapidly evolving needs of our customers,” Kevin Scott, Senior Executive Vice President of OSI North America, said. He continued on, expressing his excitement for the new facility. He said the factory will be part of their larger manufacturing network.
The Tyson plant wasn’t the only thing purchased by OSI Food Industries in recent years. OSI also purchased Baho Foods, a Dutch company with operations in Germany and the Netherlands. Several subsidiaries of Baho Foods come along with the purchase. These subsidiaries are Gelderland Frischwaren, Henri van de Bilt, Vital Convenience, Bakx Foods, and Q Smart Life. These companies serve customers in 18 countries all over Europe. OSI Food Solutions UK awarded 2016 Globe of Honour by the British Safety Council.
OSI Food Solutions is just one of the companies under the OSI Group banner. Another company ran by OSI Group is Turosi, a recently acquired company in Australia.
